Process

Designing and executing an interior space project is not so different than creating and executing an automotive design program.

The same rules apply:

  • Set goals.
  • Create and visualize a design which appeals to the customer.
  • Understand all the physical limitations and how to improve them.
  • Maintain disciplined project planning during execution phases.
  • Remain flexible and prepared for better ideas and possible problems.
  • Have a sharp eye for quality and refinement during every stage.
  • Deliver beyond customer expectations.


As a Designer with 25 years’ experience, I take pride and pleasure in implementing appropriate designs for my customers. Creativity, Professionalism and Experience are what I depend on.

Initial project overview – Setting priorities and goals is critical to any design project. Understanding the client’s wishes and budget will set the path to solution. A great deal can be achieved simply with finish changes and furniture.
However critical improvements are often necessary for the value of the property. A balance between priority, budget, style and quality is the key to a successful project.
Materials and style selections – In order to find a style which best suits the customer, it is critical to understand the customer’s lifestyle, wants, activities and goals for the space.
Once this done, physical and 2D samples will be used to create a ‘living mood board’. This mood board will then act as the master styling reference for the project.
Often, these mood boards will be supported by further hand or computer sketches.
Final renderings and goals – Here is where we visualize the project and how it will be in the end.
Computer software for renderings will be created where necessary, based on the actual dimensions of the project.
Knowing what the customer will get in the end is critical to the project’s progression.
Project proposal – This is where full timing and costs will come in and be reviewed. Priorities at this time can be more clearly shifted based on all the information and detailed images.
Pre-build meeting – Once our final contract has been signed and the build team agreed upon, ...
... we would then have a full team meeting to re-confirm all objectives.
Contstruction phase – During the construction phase, the customer will be updated daily on the progress.
There will be a ‘daily flow chart’ created which will act as the project timing master. If any changes are necessary, we would discuss these immediately.
Completion – The last thing to be done is generally paint, furniture and decoration implementation.
Here is when the customer will have final influence in preparation to enjoy their new space. Once completed, future goals can also be set, based on long term priorities.
